Bothán Sauna respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect and why

When you book a session. Your name, email address, phone number and payment details. We need these to hold your booking, to contact you if something changes, and to take payment. Bookings and card payments are handled through our online booking system — we never see or store your full card details. We collect this because we need it to provide the service you have booked.

When you accept our Terms & Conditions and health declaration. You confirm that you are fit to take part and you may tell us about a condition, medication or allergy that could affect your safety or somebody else's. This is health information, so we collect it only with your explicit consent, we keep it separate from our other records, and only the people running your session see it. You do not have to tell us anything — but heat and cold place real demands on the body, and we would rather know.

When you contact us. Your name, email address and whatever you write in your message. We use it to answer you and for nothing else.

CCTV on site. We operate CCTV in the car park, the access areas and the steps into the Mobile. It is there for security and safety only — to deter and record theft, damage and accidents. It does not cover private areas: there are no cameras in the sauna, the changing rooms, the bathroom or the shower areas.

Footage is recorded continuously while the system is running and is kept for 28 days after which it is automatically overwritten. It is viewed only where there has been an incident, and only by the business owner. We share it with An Garda Síochána or an insurer where there has been an incident and it is necessary to do so, and otherwise with nobody.

We rely on our legitimate interest in protecting people and property on the premises. If you would like a copy of footage of yourself, email info@bothansauna.ie with the date, the time and where you were, and we will provide it where we can do so without disclosing other people's information.

When you visit the website. Our website is built on Squarespace, which sets the cookies needed to make the site work. These do not track you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing. We use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf:

Our online booking system, for taking and managing bookings and payments.

Squarespace, which hosts our website and delivers contact form messages to us.

Google Workspace, which provides our email.

Some of these companies are based outside the European Economic Area, or store data there. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards required under data protection law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records: 7 years as accounting law requires it.

Health declarations: 28 days, then destroyed.

CCTV footage: 28 days, then overwritten — unless it is needed for an incident, in which case that footage is kept only as long as necessary to deal with it.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Our website uses only the cookies needed for it to work. These do not track you and do not require your consent. If we add analytics or tracking in future we will update this notice and ask for your consent first.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date below.
