Commercial Terms:

Sessions and Prices

A session lasts 50 minutes and starts on the hour. Sessions are for up to six people.

€15 per person. €90 for a private booking, which is exclusive use of the whole facility rather than a shared session. Towel hire is €2.

We are open Thursday to Monday. Current hours are on our Sessions and Prices page. Thursday Club sessions at 7pm and 8pm are for women, and Monday Club sessions at 7pm and 8pm are for men. All other sessions are open to everybody.

Booking and Payment

Sessions are booked in advance through our online booking system, and payment is taken at the time of booking.

Where a booking is made for more than one person, the person booking is responsible for making sure everybody attending has read and accepted these Terms & Conditions, and meets the age requirement below.

Prices may change from time to time, but never for a booking already made and paid for.

The cancellation policy

Reschedule for full refund any 6 hours before sessions.

Arriving Late

Sessions run to time because another group follows yours. If you arrive late we will do what we can, but the session cannot be extended and we cannot refund time missed.

Groups

For groups larger than six, or for anything out of the ordinary, contact us at info@bothansauna.ie or on 086 850 4521 before booking and we will arrange it.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are not available at present. When we introduce them we will publish their terms here.

Waiver & T+Cs Agreement

1.       Important Information

These Terms & Conditions, Safety Rules and Participation Waiver apply to all customers using Bothán Sauna and its associated facilities.

2.       Age Requirement

Bothán Sauna is strictly for customers aged 16 years and over.

Customers may be required to confirm their age. Persons under 16 may not use the sauna, cold-water facilities or associated customer facilities.

Customers aged 16 or 17 must have the consent of a parent or guardian, who must accept these Terms & Conditions on their behalf.

3.       Our Facilities

Bothán Sauna is a sauna and cold plunge facility with:

A six-person cube-shaped wood-burning sauna with an externally fed wood stove.

Two seating benches inside the sauna.

Separate men's and women's changing rooms in the Mobile.

A bathroom/toilet.

A warm shower.

•    Two cold showers.

•    One cold plunge bucket.

•    Two filtered, temperature-controlled plunge baths.

•    An outdoor seating and relaxation area with complimentary tea, coffee and water.

•    The Hut, a three-sided outdoor shelter for relaxation, groups and shelter from wet weather. Robes and towels may also be hung there.

•    A front car park.

•    CCTV on site for security purposes.   Does not cover any private areas.  Customers must follow all safety signs, instructions and reasonable directions given by Bothán Sauna staff.

4.       Health & Medical Conditions

Sauna use, heat exposure, cold showers and cold-water immersion can place physical stress on the body.

Please consult your doctor before using the sauna or cold plunge if you: have high or low blood pressure or any heart or circulatory disorder, epilepsy or diabetes; are pregnant; or are prone to dizziness or fainting.

Customers are responsible for deciding whether participation is appropriate for them. Anyone with concerns about their ability to safely participate should seek advice from an appropriately qualified medical professional before attending.

Customers should not participate if they are unwell, intoxicated, significantly dehydrated or otherwise not fit to participate safely.

Customers should inform Bothán Sauna staff of any condition, medication, allergy or other circumstance that they reasonably believe may affect their safety or the safety of others, where appropriate.

5.       Personal Responsibility

Customers must take reasonable care of themselves and others.

Customers must follow all safety instructions and must immediately stop using any facility if they feel unwell, dizzy, faint, unusually short of breath, confused, excessively cold, overheated or otherwise unsafe.

6.       Sauna Risks

Customers acknowledge that sauna use involves inherent risks associated with heat, including overheating, dehydration, dizziness, fainting, burns, falls and other adverse reactions.

The wood-burning stove and surrounding surfaces may become extremely hot. Customers must not touch the stove, flue, hot metalwork or other hot surfaces.

7.       Cold-Water Risks

Cold showers, the cold plunge bucket and the temperature-controlled plunge baths involve risks associated with cold exposure, including cold shock, rapid breathing, dizziness, loss of coordination, fainting and other adverse reactions.

Customers must enter and exit cold-water facilities carefully and must never remain in cold water for longer than they can safely tolerate.

Customers must never use cold-water facilities while impaired by alcohol, drugs or any substance that may affect judgement, awareness or physical ability.

8.       Combining Heat and Cold

Alternating between sauna heat and cold-water exposure can place additional physical demands on the body.

Customers should proceed gradually, listen to their body and take appropriate rest and hydration breaks.

Customers must never feel pressured to use a cold-water facility simply because other members of their group are doing so.

9.       Sauna Use

Customers must:

•    Follow all sauna rules and staff instructions.

•    Observe any maximum session time displayed or advised.

•    Leave the sauna immediately if they feel unwell.

•    Keep unsafe objects and combustible materials out of the sauna.

•    Not interfere with the wood-burning stove, fire, flue, firewood or safety equipment or ventilation.

•    Not touch areas marked or understood to be hot.

•    Report any concern about smoke, fire or excessive heat to staff immediately.

10.   Sauna Clothing & Jewellery

Customers must wear swimwear or other suitable sauna clothing at all times.

Jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna where it could become hot and cause injury.

Clothing containing metal components should not be worn where it may create a burn risk.

11.   Towels

Customers should bring and use a towel when sitting in the sauna.

Towels should be used to maintain hygiene and protect skin from hot surfaces.

12.   Water on Sauna Stones

Water may only be placed on the sauna stones where Bothán Sauna has provided permission or instructions to do so.

Customers must ask others in the sauna before adding water to the stones.

Customers must not pour excessive water onto the stones or stove.

Oils, chemicals or other substances must never be placed on the sauna stones unless expressly supplied and authorised by Bothán Sauna.

13.   Cold Showers & Plunge Facilities

Customers must use all showers and plunge facilities carefully.

Running, jumping, pushing, diving or horseplay around the plunge facilities is prohibited.

Customers must enter and exit carefully and use any available safety features.

Customers must follow all posted temperature, time and usage instructions.

14.   Showering & Hygiene

Customers must shower as instructed before using shared plunge facilities.

Customers must maintain appropriate personal hygiene.

Customers should not use the facilities if they have an infectious condition or illness that could reasonably expose other customers or staff.

15.   No Alcohol, Smoking or Drugs

Alcohol and illegal or impairing drugs are not permitted on the premises or before using the sauna or cold-water facilities.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the sauna. Glass is not permitted in the sauna or plunge areas.

Bothán Sauna may refuse entry or require a customer to leave where staff reasonably believe the customer is impaired or presents a safety risk.

16.   Food & Drink

Food should not be consumed inside the sauna or in areas where it could create a hygiene or safety risk.

Complimentary tea, coffee and water may be provided in the designated seating area.

Customers are responsible for maintaining appropriate hydration.

17.   Slips, Trips & Falls

Water, condensation, wet surfaces and outdoor conditions may create slip and trip hazards.

Customers must walk carefully and use appropriate footwear when moving between areas.

Customers must follow all safety signage.

18.   The Mobile & Access

The sauna is located beside a static mobile home, known as the Mobile.

Customers must take care around entrances, thresholds, doors, steps and changes in level.

The route between the Mobile and sauna is designed without steps, but customers must still take reasonable care, particularly on wet or uneven surfaces.

19.   The Hut

The Hut is a three-sided outdoor shelter intended as a shared relaxation and shelter area.

Customers may use it during wet weather and may hang robes and towels there.

Customers must keep the area tidy and must not obstruct entrances, walkways or emergency routes.

20.   Outdoor Environment

The facility is situated in a rural outdoor environment, and weather conditions may change.

Customers should dress appropriately and take reasonable care in rain, wind, cold, heat or other adverse weather.

21.   Parking

Customers must park only in appropriate designated areas and take care when entering or leaving vehicles.

Customers are responsible for their own vehicles and belongings, except where liability is imposed on Bothán Sauna by law.

22.   Mobile Phones & Photography

Customers must respect the privacy of other customers.

Photography, video recording or live streaming of other customers is not permitted without their clear consent.

Bothán Sauna may designate the sauna and other areas as phone-free zones.

23.   CCTV

CCTV is used for safety and security purposes in the car park, access areas and steps into the Mobile.

CCTV does not monitor private customer areas such as the sauna or changing facilities.

Our CCTV and privacy notice, explaining how footage is used, stored and retained and your data protection rights, is available on request.

24.   Respect & Conduct

Customers must treat staff, other customers and property with respect.

The following are prohibited:

•    Bullying or harassment.

•    Threatening or abusive behaviour.

•    Violence.

•    Sexual misconduct.

•    Deliberately creating unsafe conditions.

•    Deliberate damage to property.

•    Failure to follow reasonable safety instructions.

25.   Shared Sauna Etiquette

The sauna may be shared with other customers, except during private bookings, which have exclusive use of the facility.

Customers must respect reasonable personal space, privacy and noise levels.

Customers must not engage in inappropriate or sexualised behaviour anywhere on the premises.

26.   Allergies & Cleaning Products

Cleaning products may be used throughout the premises.

Customers with known allergies or sensitivities should contact Bothán Sauna before attending if they require information about cleaning products or procedures.

27.   Personal Belongings

Customers are responsible for their own phones, jewellery, clothing, vehicles and other personal belongings.

Customers should not bring valuables unless necessary.

Bothán Sauna is not responsible for loss, theft or damage except where responsibility is imposed by law.

28.   Damage to Property

Customers must not deliberately or negligently damage the sauna, the Mobile, the Hut, plunge equipment, showers, furniture, safety equipment or other property.

Customers may be responsible for loss or damage caused by their unlawful or negligent conduct, subject to applicable law.

29.   Staff Instructions

Staff may provide safety instructions and intervene where they reasonably believe a customer is at risk.

Customers must follow reasonable safety instructions.

30.   Right to Refuse Entry or End a Session

Bothán Sauna reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to refuse entry or end a customer's session where necessary for safety, hygiene, lawful operation or the protection of staff, customers or property.

This may include circumstances involving intoxication, unsafe behaviour, failure to follow safety instructions or a suspected medical emergency.

31.   Booking, Cancellation & No-Shows

Customers must comply with the booking, cancellation, rescheduling and no-show rules displayed at the time of booking.

32.   Changes, Closures & Weather

Bothán Sauna may need to change, postpone or cancel a session where reasonably necessary because of weather, fire safety, equipment failure, maintenance, staffing, health and safety concerns, utility failure or other circumstances outside reasonable control.

Where a session is cancelled by Bothán Sauna, the applicable refund, transfer or rebooking arrangements will be communicated in accordance with the booking policy.

33.   Emergencies & Medical Assistance

In an emergency, customers must follow staff instructions and cooperate with emergency procedures.

If a customer experiences a medical emergency or appears unable to safely continue, staff may take reasonable steps to summon emergency assistance.

Customers agree to reasonable emergency assistance being sought where necessary to protect life or safety.

34.   Assumption of Inherent Risk

Customers acknowledge that sauna use, heat exposure, cold showers and cold-water immersion involve inherent risks which cannot necessarily be eliminated even where reasonable safety measures are taken.

By participating, customers confirm that they understand these inherent risks, willingly accept them, and agree to follow the safety rules and instructions provided by Bothán Sauna.

Bothán Sauna will continue to take reasonable care to keep the premises and facilities safe.

35.   Liability

These Terms are intended to record the customer's understanding of the risks and responsibilities associated with participation.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or limited under Irish law.

36.   Health Declaration

By booking and participating, the customer confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, they are fit to participate in the activities they choose to undertake, or that they have obtained appropriate medical advice where they have concerns about participation.

Customers must not knowingly place themselves or others at unreasonable risk.

37.   Customer Acknowledgement

By completing a booking and accepting these Terms & Conditions, the customer confirms that they have had an opportunity to read and understand the safety information, agree to follow the rules and understand that sauna and cold-water activities involve inherent risks.

Where a booking is made for multiple people, the person making the booking must ensure that each participant is made aware of the applicable rules and requirements, and each participant must read and accept these Terms & Conditions before their session.

38.   Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, subject to any mandatory rights and protections that apply to customers.

39.   Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be treated as modified or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

40.   Acceptance

Customers accept these Terms & Conditions by completing the booking process and/or using the facilities at Bothán Sauna.
